This is a review of Avene’s SPF 50 sunscreen/cream for the face. It is a suncreen that I bought when overseas in Europe and can’t be found in Australia on the shelves as we have a maximum 30 SPF policy. Avene do have a 30 SPF product available here but I haven’t tried that yet. B.B creams are a new kind of all-in-one cream from Korea. BB stands for blemish balm, although these creams tend to be more like a cream or a foundation than a balm. By all-in-one they are meant to 1. moisturize the skin 2. while covering like a foundation and 3. providing sun protection 4. heal acne and 5. anti-aging care. I have sensitive skin on my face that reacts badly to most sunscreens, even ones specifically designed for the face. My skin gets red and at worst can flare up into nasty itchy dermatitis if I use normal skin care products. Kiehl’s Abyssine cream with SPF 23 is the first sunscreen product I’ve used that not only protects my skin from the sun but also appears to make it less sensitive.
