I’ve nearly run out of this stuff after using it for about a year. It is a foaming gel wash for the face and body that is designed for ‘atopic’ (i.e. eczema prone) skin. It is fragrance and soap free like any good eczema wash should be. It also claims to hinder the proliferation of micro-organisms on the skin which is important for preventing infections in areas where the skin might be broken from eczema. I assume that there is some kind of antibacterial ingredient in this but I’m not sure what it is. To use, pump one or two squirts between the hands and rub them together to form a thick foam. Then massage into the face or body …
I’m not sure if you can still buy this product from Kiehl’s, I think it’s been around for a while. I picked up a 4 oz jar of this from Amazon for $30 a while a go and I still have a lot left after using it pretty regularly. This is an excellent eczema emollient cream, and I think I’ve seen this recommended for eczema by others. A small amount covers a large area of skin so I use this on both my face and body even though it is a facial cream. I put in on dry areas to prevent eczema and also if I get a patch anywhere. I also use this as a ‘safe’ night time moisturizer. …
Like the last post, this product comes in portion sized packets to prevent contamination. It is designed for extremely reactive, allergic skin and should be used during a flare up of allergies, eczema etc where infection needs to be prevented. It forms a protective barrier for the skin and helps it restore surface integrity. There is little danger of your skin reacting badly to this, although it is possible with any product (even natural ones). The cream itself is non-scented and very lovely to use. It applies nicely and requires no rubbing of the skin for it to absorb. Overall I give this 4 out of 5 **** Not for everyday use, but for specific types of skin emergencies only!

If this stuff came with an SPF I would be one very happy customer. As it is, it is a nice medium coverage foundation for the most sensitive of skin. It’s called toleriane for a reason as it is very well tolerated. As a foundation this is okay. I apply it with fresh sponges or occasionally with a dry foundation brush for a buff finish. The coverage is pretty good and will hide most blemishes, although if you use to much it develops a thick visible layer that screams “I’m wearing make-up”. It hi
des skin redness and scaliness pretty well too, which is great because that is when you’d need to use this. I would use this if …
This cream is meant to restore the hydro-lipid barrier of the skin. I found it during an online search for products that would help an eczema break out on my cheeks which left them feeling itchy, inflamed and irritated. With my skin in that state this cream did tingle and burn a little on application, but not for very long. It had a slightly chemical smell to it that I didn’t quite like although because it didn’t irritate my skin I used it twice. Using the second tube on fairly normal skin, i would say that this cream is fairly safe to use for people with irritated or inflamed skin. It helped to keep my skin moisturized, even over night …
