I’ve been a big fan of La Roche Posay’s “Rosaliac” cleanser for years now but lately I haven’t been able to find it in my favourite stores. That is online stores, La Roche Posay is no where to be found in brick-and-mortar stores in Australia at all. If I’m wrong please correct me as I would love to be able to buy it from Australian stores if I need it in a hurry.
Rosaliac is a gel cleanser, and it has a beautiful soothing, cooling feel to it which is perfect for (as the name implies) anyone with Rosacia. If you have Rosacia I strongly recommend it for you, it may be the best cleanser you’ve ever tried. As for me, …

Another great Avene cream for extra sensitive skin types that I’m surprised I haven’t reviewed yet. This is a reliable cream that I have been using for years for extra dry, eczema afflicted skin. I recently took advantage of the strong AU dollar and bought some more recently from the Pharamundi amazon store here at a much better price that you find in Australian priceline stores and with a fairly cheap delivery fee too; international delivery is one thing that can negate the benefits of purchasing skincare overseas, but in this case it’s not a problem. I can vouch for the quality of the cream as it was the same old cream I have always used, really good at …

There seems to be a lack of good sensitive skincare for oily skin. Most products seem to be for both sensitive and dry skin and it can be hard to find a shear, non heavy cream that is soothing and will calm oily sensitive skin. I think I found a perfect concoction for this and that’s Skinfood’s Lettuce and Cucumber Water Jelly. Skinfood is a Singapore brand which is not available in Australian stores. It can be found online however and recently I was able to pick some Skinfood products up on my travels. I got this jelly, their mushroom BB cream as well as a facial mask for sensitive skin which I’ll be reviewing soon. As for the jelly, …

Clinique market their comfort on call cream as a clinically tested product for allergy relief and prevention. It is formulated with sensitivity in mind, and with ingredients least likely to disagree with easily irritated or sensitive skin. It is also formulated to provide relief when the skin is in the midst of an allergic reaction, by calming inflammation, soothing and helping restore the skins compromised lipid barrier. It is not an oily cream though, as oils can be one of the things that can exacerbate inflamed skin, so be careful of how you use them (ie test them first). Comfort on call however is simply perfect in texture, consistency and feel on allergic skin. It definitely is creamy, not greasy, …

My next two reviews are about skin calming serums/salves/balms what ever you would call them, one from Kiehl’s which I’ll review now and the other by L’Occitane which I’ll post about tomorrow. The two centella products from Kiehl’s: the balm and the cleanser are designed to calm irritated skin and they do do this. They are gloriously gentle and contain aloe vera and other ingredients to calm the skin. If I ever put something on my skin that gives me a bad reaction I wash it off and plop some of this on my skin and within 10 minutes I can feel the difference. It really is a lovely salve for those with delicate skins, I also think it is …
