I have been doing a lot of research on the use of lavender oil in skin care for the treatment of eczema. I had always assumed that I was intolerant to lavender oil, as I once used a body cream containing it on my eczema to disastrous results. Recently however I decided to give it another try, but this time with a facial cream from a natural skincare line, Aromacare Naturally. I’ve become increasingly concerned about the amount of chemicals I put on my skin and have been keeping an eye out for natural skincare alternatives to try. Most skincare chemicals are somehow derived from natural ingredients, but using them unaltered is something else and although sensitive skin can react …
I have to admit, as far as luxury skin care brands go Chanel is my favorite. I’m a fan of their make up, although I’m a mineral makeup convert I still love their liquid foundations, especially with that ingenious nozzle that dispenses the perfect amount. The last time I purchased Chanel cosmetics (eye shadow and an illuminator to my recollection) I was given a sample of this lotion from their precision range. I am not a toner girl, because my skin is prone to dryness I usually find that toners dry and irritate my skin so I avoid them. This isn’t as thick as other barrier creams I’ve used but is like a regular moisturizing cream in consistency. It comes in a smallish plastic tube which is great for carrying around with you. It doesn’t have a strong smell, but mine did have a slight chemical waft to it that didn’t smell bad but stood out to me as I was expecting it to be completely scentless. The cream itself was nice to use, it wasn’t too heavy (or too light) and blended in okay. …
Olive oil is not only great for your insides; it can also be great for your skin when used topically. It is cheap and effective at nourishing the skin and can be used in a myriad of ways. Continued use might also have an anti-aging effect on the skin. The main issue with using oil on your skin or hair is of course the oily residue, it can get on clothes and feel yucky. Also, it will do nothing to ease the itch of eczema, in fact when I used plain olive oil on my eczema it made it more itchy. It didn’t inflame or irritate the skin, just made it more itchy which is definitely not good when your …
