B.B creams are a new kind of all-in-one cream from Korea. BB stands for blemish balm, although these creams tend to be more like a cream or a foundation than a balm. By all-in-one they are meant to 1. moisturize the skin 2. while covering like a foundation and 3. providing sun protection 4. heal acne and 5. anti-aging care. They also claim to lighten the skin tone, but I think that is mostly through the make up coverage and perhaps by helping to heal redness as well. I bought a sample pack of Hanskin’s B.B cream for $20 AU a few days ago at an Asian beauty store (with lots of fake Chanel jewelry!). In it were four 10ml tubes of different types of B.B. cream; an eye cream, a night cream, a glossy cream and a ‘caviar’ gold cream. The latter two are for day wear and contain an SPF and medium coverage of imperfections.
Even though the caviar gold cream (pictured) looks quite dark, on the skin it is rather pale. I don’t think this would suit naturally tanned or dark skin tones, on me I think it is okay however it is still in the hot months here and at this time my skin suits …
