Holistic Hair: Hydrating Shampoo & Conditioner

Wow, am I happy to have stumbled across this. Holistic Hair makes a shampoo and conditioner for dry and damaged hair that has me floored. First off it smells great, like geraniums and rose mainly and it’s not an artificial scent either but one coming from the natural essential oils used. Second, their products are completely free of Sodium Laural Sulfate and all the other chemicals that you find in your average hair care products. Third, it conditions my hair like nothing else I’ve tried. The only thing I can compare the conditioner to in this respect are those extra strength conditioners you get in those home hair dye products like ‘nice n easy’. The conditioner is *amazing* and I simply can’t believe it achieves the same results without artificial ingredients. A little background; I home bleached my hair about three months ago which left it rather dry and course. I then used one of those nice n easy kits to dye my hair back to it’s original colour as my roots were starting to show. Well, after those two my hair is extra dry and damaged. It is so course I have trouble running my fingers through it and it knots very quickly, but not when I’m using this! Like I said, this conditioner is as good at leaving your hair silky smooth as the hair dye conditioner, but doesn’t irritate my skin like those ones tend to. The shampoo is slightly runny, but lathers up very nicely once I manage to get it on top of my head. The conditioner on the other hand is thick and creamy and can be used sparingly to achieve a great effect. Another thing I’ve noticed is that my scalp is less dry and flaky than usual. This is going to be my regular shampoo and conditioner from this point on, I am going to have to stock up on a bit more because I absolutely adore it. If you have dry and damaged hair I urge you to try this stuff, it is infinitely better than anything else I’ve tried for dry hair and it is a natural product to boot. Holistic hair is a New Zealand company but I believe they ship over seas (definitely to Australia). They have designed their range with the help of an aromatherapist which is why they smell so divine. I think a good smelling product can really make a difference to your day. It can make you feel good, especially if you continue to smell good throughout the day. Definitely give this brand a try, I will bet that you’ll love it as much as I do.
