Chanel: Pro Lumiere foundation SPF 15
This is a good light weight foundation that provides medium coverage. It goes on like silk and gives the skin a really nice silky sheen. The lasting power is not strong however, and the perfect satin finish doesn’t last to long past the application. It is not so much a gloss or a matt foundation but lies somewhere in the middle. I’ve heard that this is a foundation of choice for some photographers as the luminescent quality tends to show up nicely in pictures giving the skin a nice healthy glow. I’d agree with this however wearing it does make you look like you’re wearing make up, it’s not as natural a look as It could be. Wearing this in the evening at a dressy event looks perfect (and the photos look great too) however it looks a little too plastic during the day time under natural light (on me at least). Even though this foundation makes you look made up it doesn’t provide very good coverage of imperfections. If you want to cover spots you will need to use a concealer with this or better yet use another, heavier foundation.
The economy of this foundation is good, a small amount can cover your entire face and the bottle has a wonderful dispenser that gives you the perfect sized dollop to cover your face. If you used this every day a whole bottle could last you up to 6 months or even more, so it is definitely great value for money even though the initial price is substantially higher than for other foundations on the market. It’s good to keep in mind the over cost of a product. If you use it a few times or use it up within a month then something a bit more expensive and better quality that lasts 6 months is a much better bet.
I would recommend this foundation for evening and for going out on special occasions rather than for daily use at work.
