I was just having a conversation where I listed the things I did and used during my worst eczema break out and something came up that I haven’t reviewed yet and that’s Avene’s thermal spring water spray. Now a days I save my pennies by using a refillable spray bottle with regular spring water and a dash of aloe vera juice in it as a DIY replacement, however if my skin ever got as bad as it was then again I wouldn’t hesitate to go back to using this stuff; if my homemade solution wasn’t helping that is. The reason is simply because using this did help, especially in the hot summer. I do admit that the fine mist of …
The La Roche-Posay ‘Toleriane’ line is designed for sensitive, reactive skin. The La Roche-Posay ‘Roseliac’ gel cleanser is one of my favorite cleansers to use in the shower, the roseliac line being good for skin redness. Since I liked that so much I thought I aught to have more of a look at their sensitive skin range. I had only ever tried the individually portioned eye make-up remover from the toleriane line so far, and found it to be brilliant on really sensitive skin. I actually use it for my whole face if it’s very sensitive as I figure if it’s suitable for the eye area it will more than suitable for the sensitive skin on the rest of my …
I wanted to post about a cream I used on dry skin and eczema a few years ago. It’s called Uriage Hydrolipidique and it is a kind of barrier repair/ moisturizer for the face. This isn’t as thick as other barrier creams I’ve used but is like a regular moisturizing cream in consistency. It comes in a smallish plastic tube which is great for carrying around with you. It doesn’t have a strong smell, but mine did have a slight chemical waft to it that didn’t smell bad but stood out to me as I was expecting it to be completely scentless. The cream itself was nice to use, it wasn’t too heavy (or too light) and blended in okay. …
I mentioned in the EA article that I had tried an eczema ceramide cream so I thought I should follow that up with a review. Ceramide is a skin care ingredient that is said to improve eczema by restoring the skins barrier. For this reason I consider pretty much all ceramide eczema creams to be barrier creams (except for the EA cream which is a skin-firming cream, not for eczema). TriCeram, the one I tried certainly had the consistency of of other barrier creams, which is firm and viscous, forming a physical barrier on the skin. I actually discovered the TriCeram cream from an article on About.com here:

The article discusses ceramide as a skin care ingredient and also
lists a …
I bought this cream, along with the foaming gel wash of the same name about 2 years ago, and I still have some left. That’s because they are in huge 500ml containers. At the time I was dealing with eczema on the back of my knees and the insides of my elbows. These are two of the most common places to get eczema on the body. When you have eczema on the body you should not use any kind of soap. Usually, I would say not to use soap just on the face. Some soaps are a little different like natural, handmade types so I don’t discriminate against those just because they are cleansers in a solid bar form. For …
