Super balanced is a line of foundations by Clinique that are good for combination skins. The line has been going for many years and has had a few different incarnations, the most recent being the introduction of a mineral power version. The super balanced name comes from it’s purported ability of to provide liquid foundation cover and oil absorption where needed. It also comes in an oil free formula, which makes it suitable for use on rosacea or eczema prone skin which can be irritated by oils.
I remember trying the clinique superbalanced make up range way back when, I can’t remember which year exactly but it was quite a while ago. I used a compact with a refillable solid cake …
To celebrate two years of posting reviews here on SkinSavers I’ve decided to create a list of my all time favorite skincare products. These are the products to beat in 2011, as I try new things I usually compare them to these favorites. The categories are; best eczema emollient cream, eczema wash, sensitive skin cleanser, sensitive skin moisturizer, make up remover and best make up. I’ve also added a category for best general purpose skin healing product for when skin is raw, irritated or otherwise damaged. All of my top picks are made with people with sensitive or problematic skin in mind, with an extra emphasis on products that are suitable for rosacea, eczema, dry and reactive skin. I’ll talk …
Yes, Skinfood is definitely my favorite BB cream brand (of the one’s I’ve tried so far that is!). Although I have a bit of a gripe with the colours available I love the way it protects my skin from the sun and environmental allergens without exacerbating oiliness or spots. My problem with the colours is that there are only two available and neither suit my skin tone. They have light and dark, the light is very ghostly pale and the dark is for naturally dark skin tones of which I am neither. I do think that the tones where designed with Asian skintones in mind, which does make sense given this is a Singaporean (edit: Korean) skincare brand. Anyway, I …
Skinfood is my favorite brand of the moment, and my favorite BB cream brand so far. I actually have picked up no less than *three* different types of BB cream from them recently. The first I purchased was this Mushroom BB cream for mature skin. Pretty much all BB creams are multi-functional in that they provide SPF and blemish coverage (ie act like a foundation). I am intrigued by them because they are not really like your average foundation. They provide a much heavier and long lasting coverage than most foundations I’ve tried without being caky I think this particular BB cream achieves this by providing good hydration. I think it’s a good one for dry skin of any …
This is one foundation I use when my skin is really dry, I don’t think it’s so great when my skin is a bit on the oily or combination side as it tends to shine up with it on. Despite that, on dry skin it is fabulous at protecting red, sensitive skin whilst hiding it from the world at the same time. It does come on a bit thick looking so try and be sparing with your application. I like to use this particular foundation with make-up sponges as they can be used to apply liquid foundation more thinly, but be warned they also soak up a lot of the foundation themselves which can be bad cost-wise. This is …
