As long as I can remember I’ve avoided hairspray and hair gels. Why? Because with long hair they always manage to come in contact with my skin and all the ones I’d tried invariably were horrible for sensitive skin. I think recently there has been more of a push to develop hair styling products that use gentler ingredients and for that reason I have been a little less wary of trying them.
Holistic hair is one of the companies producing hair care with natural ingredients. They make a molding clay which actually is made with a natural clay base. Natural clay is one of the ingredients used in some face masks, so using in on your scalp doesn’t seem too …
Lavender is a beautiful ingredient for cleansing and refreshing. I absolutely adore it in the Aromacare naturally face creams and I have recently been using a shampoo and conditioner with it as well. Lavender has a universally relaxing smell but it can also be somewhat invigorating. On my travels early this year I took a few little sample bottles with me of Pure Earths Conditioner and Shampoo with organic lavender oil and I was very happy. Especially in a hot humid climate, these refreshed and cleansed my hair perfectly, with not a smidgen of irritation to my scalp. The conditioner is a particular favorite, it left my dyed hair soft and perfectly shiny. It has been difficult finding a …
Wow, am I happy to have stumbled across this. Holistic Hair makes a shampoo and conditioner for dry and damaged hair that has me floored. First off it smells great, like geraniums and rose mainly and it’s not an artificial scent either but one coming from the natural essential oils used. Second, their products are completely free of Sodium Laural Sulfate and all the other chemicals that you find in your average hair care products. Third, it conditions my hair like nothing else I’ve tried. The only thing I can compare the conditioner to in this respect are those extra strength conditioners you get in those home hair dye products like ‘nice n easy’. The conditioner is *amazing* and I …
Itch alert! This is a product I can’t use a lot of on loose hair that hangs on my face as it makes my skin feel rather itchy. As far as actual irritation, it’s minimal if any at all, but itch is something that should be avoided especially if you already have a flare up of some sort. The pomegranate hair spray also is really pungent, although not in an entirely bad way. It smells like fruits, like a very sweet pomegranate juice and is not bad but wont be to everybody’s liking. It really does make your hair shine, in a way reminiscent of sea water beach hair but without the grits of sand. Liking this all depends on …
After dyeing my hair earlier in the week it’s feeling a bit course and damaged. Although my scalp is not in bad shape it can do with a little help right now too. Fortunately, I have had an opportunity to try a hair care brand new to Australia called La Biosthetique. They are a hair care brand that makes shampoos and treatments targeted to specific needs. I have just started using their Lipokerine E shampoo which is for repairing and calming sensitive scalps; just perfect for me right now. I’m glad to report that I can add this to my list of ‘conditioner optional’ shampoos; my hair felt so moisturized and soft afterward that I didn’t need to …
