Oh, this stuff is good. Anyone with rough, congested, acne-prone or lumpy skin should try it out. The AHA’s (alpha hydroxy acids) in this product work to gently exfoliate and remove dead skin cells. After using for a while the skin appears (and feels) smoother and clearer. Some types of AHA ingredients are derived from citrus, as is the case here. The Enzyme Cleansing Gel contains Grapefruit extract and papaya extract which are citrus acid AHAs. AHA can also be glycolic and lactic acid. They all can contribute to reduction of fine lines and improving the general quality of the skin, reducing inflammation and blotchyness and by promoting healthier more robust skin. Unfortunately though, AHA are not generally recommended …
I’ve been a big fan of La Roche Posay’s “Rosaliac” cleanser for years now but lately I haven’t been able to find it in my favourite stores. That is online stores, La Roche Posay is no where to be found in brick-and-mortar stores in Australia at all. Most of the reviews I post here tend to be positive. When I find something good I want to share it, but if something doesn’t work too well for me (or if I have a bad reaction to it) I often assume that different people might not react in the same way. I’ve also added a category for best general purpose skin healing product for when skin is raw, irritated or otherwise damaged. All of my top picks are made with people with sensitive or problematic skin in mind, with an extra emphasis on products that are suitable for rosacea, eczema, dry and reactive skin. I’ll talk …

Eczema is of course one of the most obvious outcomes of a compromised skin barrier but there are also links to other types of sensitivities such as to food and dust (although more research is needed). Whatever the links, it’s still a good idea to keep an eye on the cleansing products you use on your skin, especially so if you are prone to rashes or eczema.
One of the first tips for eczema cleansing is to try not to wash your skin too often and try to wash only once a day. …
